Do you believe everything you come across on social media ?? If you do then you fit the modern definition of being naive. The world is very much on the fingertips via your smart phone applications. But then even with technology and everything, does the world really change ?? The world remains the same. And the media is always plagued to bias and paid news.
Then as we digitally begin t access resources, we are prone to fall for it. Isn’t it ?? And also there are various organizations, companies and entrepreneurs who would pay various websites to get a favorable news. And why not, it is a PR strategy for movies, advertisement companies, commercial products and everything in the world that you see around you. And then, why is this not so talked about ??
Because the very people who post content on popular social media platforms are paid for the same. Well it looks a bit scandolous but it is the biggest truth. Now don’t say that you believe recent posts which says Dangal made more money on the box office then Baahubali. Give us a break, that movie was out of theatres 4 months ago and Baahubali : The Conclusion made he same money in 3 weeks ( lifetie collections of Dangal ) and still exceeding it. That is one classic example of how the S.S Rajamouli movie which is a classic cinematic milestone is compared to an old film, just because it hurts Bollywood in the gut. Also a few analysts in China reported the same movie going with empty halls with blockbuster reports.
Now also we must as readers remember, that if something looks too convenient too be true, then it isn’t. If something which sounds so good to be true but it likely evokes an agenda, it is biased. Information needs to be provided to people free of any tamperations and we should let the users decide. Ofcourse there is a lot of beautiful and useful content on social media websites, but it somewhere looses out to shimmer and sponsored promotion of pitched paid news and posts. Yes, do not underestimate that there is great power in social media, but it must be used in the right way. For example Quora is a user based website with a lot of global recognition, and just like Wikipidea, it earns the respect just for it’s unregulated authentic content. We should always be vary of fake news and not spread or promote rumours unless they are confirmed and backed up with facts.
